How absurd men are! They never use the liberties they have, they demand those they do not have. They have freedom of thought, they demand freedom of speech.-- Soren Kierkegaard

Holiday in Ohio....

Hey just was out in OH the whole week. Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was the best yet, for the most part anyway. I learned that I still have a lot to learn.....sigh. But that's ok. It's better than being ignorant enough of oneself to say that I don't need to learn anything!

I got to see Wall-E, Man of the Year, and Forbidden Kingdom. We don't see movies usually until our library has them. At least until there's a dollar theatre that opens up somewhere close....

Ahhhh....Chipotle. Twice in one week. How awesome is that? If you've eaten there, you should know what I mean.

Donatos pizza, too. THANKS DAD!!!

It was nice to work at the Der making mucho cream pies again. It's fun to make Ukrainians smile....they actually have very sweet beautiful smiles when they are not using the usual stoic expression.

I got a $5 tip. For making 4 pies. Cool.

I'm at church right now. Youth group starts at 5 tonight. Hope the weather doesn't get too bad. Eric went to pick up some kids. Josie's asleep. I'm cold. Just in case anyone wonders....

My bro got rid of his dream car and bought a new boxy something or other. It's really nice.

And....I don't know what else to say.

Eric starts back to work tomorrow. Yuck.

I get to unpack tomorrow. Yay.

But I'm glad we had the time that we did.

Have a great eve, folks.   ~Jen

A Quick UPDATE!

HI people who hopefully still remember who we are!!

So I finally got to the computer again. Where to start???!! Well, we moved from Middlebury to Centreville, MI, which is about a half hour apart. So now we have more room, an actual GARAGE, and Josie has her own room. I didn't realize it cost so much to live in MI (no wonder its a depressed area), but hopefully soon we will get through that transition. Oh by the way we are only like 2 minutes away from Eric's family so its nice to be able to see them more often.

Josie is now 2 1/2. Yikes. I'd post pics but we don't have a digital camera yet (yes I know we are stone-age ;) Ha the sad part is I have pics of her still undeveloped in the canister. One of these days...

Potty training. Yee ha. Going pretty well, actually. Phew.

She is such a mixture of Eric and I. it is really cool to see. She's a beautiful, funny, smart, and growing more independent every day. She loves to read and draw (like both her parents). All she wants to draw is VeggieTales. She does a mean Larry and Bob. But she also loves watching 321 Penguins and Thomas the Train, etc.

We have ended up being basically the youth leaders at our church. Unfortunately with the economy being not so good, the RV industry has taken a dip and many church members have lost work hours so therefore the offerings became lower, etc and our youth pastor had to be let go because the church could not pay his salary. So the kids kinda got stuck with us :) Totally blew me out of the water that it happened that way. But we couldn't let them down and just bail. So that's been really stretching.

I know that 2 years ago I likely would have refused to work with the youth, based on not being confident in myself and what I am capable of.  I really have been learning a LOT of things in the past 2 years that have changed my whole perspective on that. Really awesome.

As a result, I love working with them. They really take me back to high school days. Hilarious. I think they may even like us as well.....:)

God is so awesome.

Eric's job has greatly slowed down. When people find that out, they seem to think that's a bad thing. I guess that's how the world is used to thinking, but I really find it EXCITING.  Why?

BECAUSE IT GIVES US THE CHANCE TO SEE WHAT WE ARE MADE OF!!!

I am seriously and especially excited for this. I realize that may not make sense to some of you. But like I said, some of the things I have been learning are really creating freedom in my life in many areas. God has been so cool to bring certain people in our life lately. I just can't say it enough, He has brought us to a definite path here.

I miss seeing friends!!! I do think of you and wonder how you are. I am sorry for not being able to be in good contact. Busy life!! We still do not have internet access and even today it has been weeks since i've checked email. But I do think of you. Thanks for what you have added to our life experience, if I have never told you that. I'm so grateful for the chance of knowing each and every one of you.

Well I must go again for now. Love to all of you and thanks too.   Love, Jen

We are expecting snow....and Eric doesn't have to work tomorrow. Yee-ha. Life is exciting. Last weekend we went on a youth retreat to Springhill Camp in MI. This place is AWESOME and has MI's largest tubing hill, among many other things....

I never went tubing before. What a blast.

I went on something called a Euro-Bungy. Basically the sensation of bungee jumping up to 2 stories high and i could do back flips in the harness. Way cool, but did I ever get sore later!!!

Eric and I went on a horseback ride through the woods while the snow was falling . A perfect ride. A perfect piece of dream.....

It snowed all day Saturday. Just beautiful.

The speaker, Jeffrey Dean, was awesome too.

I'd definitely recommend that place. No wonder you have to reserve a spot early in the year!!!

Apparently Josey knows who Matt is in our photos even though I never coached her. She emphatically says..."MAA--t"  :)

EEEEEK my litte girl has 10 teeth, has started to say thank you, loves to dance (don't know where she got that one ;) loves music, and loves Bob (as in veggietales)

Will she really be 2 in April? Yikes.

Dawn, if you read this, I appreciated your txts the other night. Nice to know someone was thinking of me. I miss you!

I hope your lives are a source of growth and strengthening for you. I pray you find joy in all things.

Oh by the way, MY HUSBAND ROCKS!!!

I Remember

Life is strange and exciting and topsy-turvy and contemplative. I may not understand a whole lot but I do love Christmas. Enjoy the holiday season, dear friends....

It is amazing how late the human body can stay up if need be.  Or rather if one chooses to do such a thing.

I saw a great qwote last night on a chiropractors sign.

"the index of a man's greatness is revealed by the size of his dream."

Before you are convinced to let go of your dreams remember all great men accomplished great things because they had a dream.  Martin Luther King,  our founding fathers,  Abraham (God gave him a dream remember, "...the the stars of the sky.  sands of the sea."  that's a huge dream.)   Whats your dream?  To be a stay at home husband/dad with your stay at home wife/Mom?  To be a full time missionary?  To compete in the IronMan Triathalon?  To change your world?

ok, So what are you doing right now to accomplish that.  yeah, right Now.  Ok, ok so not right now what about yesterday?  last week?  LAST MONTH?

So do you really want your dreams or are you just lazy.  Or do you procrastinate?  "I'll start tommorrow......

Or do you not believe they're possible.  or maybe you don't think you're worth your dreams.

Why?  Oh, "God wants me to live in the dirt and be all sad and to marry a woman with a monkey on her head."  Or if you're a lady insert  "....a man with a chicken on his head & a ridin on a pig"

Really?    ReAAlly?  Give me a break.  Granted God is not gonna give you a million bucks just to make you smile.  Then again.......

What's your purpose?  to go work 40 or 32 or 85 hours a week and barely make ends meet and your children see their school teacher more than they see you. So then how do you leave an impact on your world?  "daddy loves us and wants the best for us thats why he is always busy/ tired / etc."   or you wanna support those orphans in that one country ok so fork over the cash. and help em out.  or you wanna buy your poor old ma a dishwasher hmm requires money.  so what you gonna do?  See even if you're not "materialistic"  you still need moola.

So whats the point of this little rant you ask.  well it was just for me.  but if it makes you look at your own situation and perhaps think of things a little differently then, well, i have succeeded.

I am just speaking mostly to myself.
